this is part of a recent email exchange, on re-reading it felt worth sharing.
It all comes down to what’s real. and you can only work that from how you’re actually perceiving things, 2-20 (Yoga Sutras)
it’s fun to talk about “non-dualism,” but then what do you say when you stub your toe? on what, if it’s all one?
all we can do is be with the apparent reality until it loosens it grip on us.
and we must learn to laugh. while the “kleshas tanu” 2-2
remember the main klesha is avidya, 2-5 “…regarding the non-Self as the Self.”
the workings of the gunas are empty of meaning only for one who is liberated. until then it’s all just phony-yogi.
it’s not something we can ever wrap our mind around, those are just mind games, it’s your ego exercising it’s control over you. let it go, be still, be quiet, aspire to spend more time in a thought free state. at some point it makes thinking sense to think less.
as Patanjali says, yoga chitta vrritti nirodhah.
so, do the practice, feel the energy you are made of,
the energy is love!
